LSGG Story

As you may have read on the home page, LIFE SUCKS GET GOD is dedicated to encouraging, inspiring and offering hope to those who are struggling with unresolved pain as a result of all of the things that make LIFE SUCK including but not limited to, depression, low self-worth, dysfunctional families, sex, drugs and self injury. 

 

This organization was started by two friends, Krystal and Kelly, with completely different life experiences both filled with hurts from trying to find love, value and acceptance in a world filled with an abundance of empty options.  Between the two of us we have pretty much tried everything possible to fill the void in our hearts and both came to same conclusion; without God, it's just not worth it.  Because of our life experiences, God has given us a desire to share His love and healing with others.  Not just the message of healing, but the actual starting point for that healing. 

 

Although the concept that life sucks and we need God to get through it has resonated in both of our lives, the inspiration for the organization started while we were working on a spiritual retreat weekend with college-aged students. 

 

During a time of intimate discussion, one student expressed that she had done so much in her past and made so many mistakes that there was no way God would forgive her; she had simply messed up way too big and way too many times.  She went on to say that even if He could forgive her, it would be impossible for Him to use her for anything good in this world.  Another group member started trying to convince her (without actually believing it fully herself) that good things can come from what feel like unbearable experiences.

 

Without delay, Kelly decided that her past was at least as ugly as anyone sitting there so she went on to share some of those details with the group.  She did her best to make them understand that God had taken all of the ugliness and pain from her past, added His grace and love and molded it into a heart that could not only understand and relate, but one that was filled with compassion and desire to bring that same hope to each one of them.  That very moment brought clarity which allowed some in the group to begin that healing process. 

 

In that moment we all agreed that life is hard and sometimes just flat sucks, we further concluded that the only way to survive is through a relationship with Jesus Christ, and of that LSGG was born...

 

She (the student) is slowly coming to understand and accept that her Father in Heaven loves her so much and has already paid the price for her sin, and all she had to do was ask for the forgiveness, and it would be granted.  Each day God is showing her small glimpses of how He is going to use her to reach so many people around her in spite of her past.

 

As you read the LSGG story and our personal stories, our prayer is that you begin to understand that even the darkest parts of your life can be forgiven by simply asking, and that God can ultimately begin to use them to bring His message of hope to those around you.
